Le Château de Saint-Loup is located in the most southern part of the Loire Valley in the region of Poitou-Charentes, France, between the cities of Parthenay and Thouars. The castle is a 4-hour drive from Paris. By high-speed TGV train it is just 1 1/2 hours to Poitiers and a half hour drive to the castle. If you are traveling by car: Take the road signposted D938 between Parthenay and Thouars, turn off on the D46 to Saint-Loup Lamairé. If you are traveling by train: The TGV from Paris Gare Montparnasse to Poitiers, with departures almost every hour, takes just 1 1/2 hours. The TGV from Charles de Gaulle Airport to Poitiers, with departures 3 times a day, takes 2 hours. You can take a taxi or rent a car from Poitiers. Take the road signposted N149 to Parthenay, turn toward Thouars on the D938, turn off on the D46 to Saint Loup Lamairé.
